Who this covers
This policy covers two groups: our clients (the businesses that engage us to help recover what they're owed) and the customers we contact on a client's behalf about an outstanding account.
What we collect
- From clients: business and contact details, and information about the accounts you ask us to help with (invoice details, amounts and the customer's contact details you provide).
- From customers we contact: name and contact details, information about the account, records of our correspondence, and payment details when a payment is made.
- From our website: basic, privacy-respecting analytics about how the site is used.
How we use it
- To contact the relevant person about the account and offer ways to resolve it.
- To process payments and keep accurate records.
- To maintain a compliance and audit trail, as required in our industry.
- To meet our legal obligations.
When we share it
We share information only where needed to do our job: with the business that engaged us, with the payment providers who process payments, and where we're required to by law. Where a client instructs us to escalate an account (for example, to partner lawyers or a credit reporting body), we act only on that instruction and within the law. We don't sell your personal information.
How we store and protect it
Information is held securely, with access limited to people who need it, and is kept only for as long as we need it or are legally required to. We use encryption in transit and reasonable safeguards to protect it.
Cross-border handling
Because we operate in both Australia and the United States, your information may be handled in either country. We handle Australian personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles, and we apply appropriate protections for information handled in the United States.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it's wrong, or raise a privacy concern. Just email hello@debtcentral.co and we'll help. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a privacy matter, you can also contact the relevant privacy regulator in your area.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date above.
