Your rights

If DebtCentral has reached out about an unpaid account, here's exactly where you stand — in plain English. Being treated fairly isn't a favour; it's your right, and it's how we work anyway.

You'll always be treated with respect

No threats, no shame, no calls at unreasonable hours. We keep contact to a reasonable level, we always tell you who we are and which business we're helping, and we speak to you the way we'd want to be spoken to.

You can ask us for the details

You have the right to know who you originally owed, how much is outstanding, and what it relates to. Just ask and we'll set it out for you clearly.

You can dispute it

If you don't believe you owe this, or the amount looks wrong, tell us — and we'll pause everything while we check. Nothing escalates while a genuine dispute is being looked into.

You can sort it out in a way that works for you

Pay in full, pay a little later on a date you pick, or set up a payment plan you can actually manage. You're in control of how it gets resolved — there's no single "take it or leave it" demand.

If you're going through a tough time

Financial hardship happens. Tell us privately and we'll pause things and work out something realistic together. No judgement, and it stays between us.

Your privacy is protected

We only use your information to help resolve the account, and we handle it carefully. See our privacy policy for the detail.

If you're not happy with us

Tell us — email hello@debtcentral.co and a real person will look into it. If we can't sort it out between us, you're also free to raise it with the relevant consumer protection or ombudsman service in your area.

The rules we work under. In Australia, debt collection is governed by the ACCC and ASIC's guidelines for collectors and creditors. In the United States, it's governed by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and applicable state laws. We follow them — and honestly, our own standards are stricter.
